About Mary Whittaker Counseling
Who am I professionally?
I received an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and my Master's in Counseling from University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
I am a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counseling Associate and a National Certified Counselor. I believe deeply in the importance of the therapeutic working relationship.
I have a Person Centered and Humanistic theoretical orientation and utilize techniques from multiple orientations depending on my client needs, including but not limited to CBT, I-CBT, Strength Based Positive Psychology, solution focused, mindfulness, ACT, parts of DBT and others depending on client needs.

Who am I?
I have 3 amazing children! And 2 fur babies. I enjoy almost any activity with my children and/or friends. I enjoy good meals, walking, playing games and reading. I love the beach, marsh, the mountains, lake, and most any place with beautiful nature and scenery. But ironically "I don't camp." It's a family joke! Oh and I love hot yoga!
I know personally life can be a roller coaster...in the dark...taking turns we did not expect... and also amazing and full of new adventures, fun and joy!
